Our Executive Team

Dean Greenwood

Director

Dean Greenwood grew up around swimming pools and near the beach as his father was heavily involved in Surf Life Saving.  He had a natural progression into competitive swimming, Surf Life Saving, and a coaching career in which he nurtured some of New Zealand’s most notable swimmers from the 1990s.  This was an exciting opportunity for Dean to put something back into the sport and pass on some of what he had learned to young swimmers coming up.

“Running my own swim school has been a challenging and rewarding experience and I am proud to work alongside some amazing young pioneers in this industry. Operating DGSS is a team effort and you will get to meet some of these incredible people below. My guiding principal every day is that we have the opportunity to make a positive contribution to young people’s lives, and we should work hard at doing just that. I hope you will enjoy your experience with us.”
Our Executive Team

Ashleigh Pushon
Staff Development & Norther Area Manager

Ashleigh is our Area Manager for the Northern Region and in charge of ongoing staff development.  She established our comprehensive in-house training programme, and continues to develop and update the programme as years go on.  Ashleigh started with the company as a teacher whilst she was studying a Bachelor of Sport & Recreation at university back in January 2011. Fortunately, she has stayed with us and progressed to site manager in April 2012, becoming responsible for the Instructor Training Programme and a member of the DGSS Executive team shortly after.

“My passion is people and how to engage with individuals and teams. This is what I love about facilitating training courses; every group is different, and we can always learn something new - much like swim teaching!"

Fallyn Donaldson
Marketing & Central Area Manager

In addition to being the Area Manager for our Central facilities, Fallyn oversees our lifeguard training programme and DGSS marketing initiatives. With 17 years of experience in the aquatics industry, Fallyn has been an integral part of our team since 2016, bringing extensive expertise in swim teaching and management from various facilities in Auckland.

“Being in an environment where we heavily focus on developing staff skills and seeing them progress because of it, is one of the many reasons why I enjoy my role and working with DGSS. Every customer interaction is an opportunity to learn, grow, and gives me a sense of personal satisfaction from knowing we are making a difference."

Our Management Team

Our Management Team comprises both executive members and our six site managers who have a wealth of experience in and out of the aquatics industry. This team serves as the driving force behind our organisation. They ensure the consistency of a supportive work environment for our staff and strive for exceptional customer service delivery.

Managers collaborate closely to exchange ideas and resources, convening at monthly meetings to discuss goals and updates.  You'll often find them working together on Thursday mornings at Mt Eden and being upskilled for their own development.
